THANK YOU TO OUR GOLD SPONSORS

August 1—RACE DAY! Things you need to know.

Parking: Available on all city streets except sections of Park Avenue and State Street.  Parking on the south side of Centennial Park will be prohibited between Lewis Avenue and State Street.  There will also be no parking on State Street between Park and Washington Avenues.  There are also plenty of parking spaces in the city lots two blocks south of Centennial Park by the Batavia City Centre.

Setup: Teams setting up their own tents are encouraged to do so as early in the day as possible and should be done by 5:00 pm.  Someone will be at the park all day to show you your location.  The easiest way to unload tents, chairs, grills, etc. will be to park along Ellicott Avenue on the west side of the park.  When you are done unloading please move your vehicle back past the barriers.

Teardown: Everything brought into Centennial Park on race day will need to be removed at the conclusion of the evening.  Garbage and recycling bins will be located near the tent area for your convenience.  Items left overnight will not be secure.

Safety: All team tents, cooking, and catering activities are covered under the GLOW Corporate Cup’s approved event permit.  Teams do not need to apply for their own permits, however please see these PDF documents for codes that must be complied with:

Cooking and Food Warming Requirements

Tents, Canopies, etc.

The City of Batavia Fire Department will be conducting safety inspections throughout the event. Their highest concern is to ensure that any on-site grilling of food is limited to propane grills – no hibachis, Webers, charcoal or wood burning grills will be allowed. Please also refrain from bringing glass containers to the park.

5K Run & Walk: Start time is 6:00 pm sharp.  As this time approaches, make your way up the hill toward the Blind School on State Street.  YellowJacket Racing will be providing tunes and announcements at the start line.  There will be a couple water stations along the route and the finish line is on Ellicott Avenue at the southwest corner of Centennial Park.

AfterGLOW: Let the party begin!  When you have finished the course, make your way back to your team tent to socialize and enjoy whatever your team has planned for dinner while listening to the on-stage live music.  There will also be an awards ceremony in front of the stage where the winners of the GLOW Corporate Cup and t-shirt contest will be announced.

Questions: You can still direct all questions through the website at glowcorporatecup.org.  Thank you for supporting the GLOW YMCA – see you at the park!
